It’s amazing what surfaces when you move house, isn’t it? Both packing and unpacking seem to throw up their share of surprises, things misplaced or simply forgotten. In this case, a post-move sort-out produced my notes from an SLA event I attended two months ago (just before the whole moving process began), and which I must admit I had completely forgotten about! Re-reading the points I had jotted down, I was reminded just how interesting I found the session, so I wanted to record the details here before I forget all about it once again. Continue reading



SLA NY Conference and Expo, September 18th 2014

Well over a month after the event, it is high time I blogged about the SLA NY Conference. Given the amount of my time and energy the planning and preparations for the event took up, and the fact that I moved apartments the week after, it has been rather nice to take a break from it all, but September 18th is rapidly receding into the distant past, and I wanted to capture a few thoughts before it got away entirely. SLA NY President-Elect, 2015

As of our annual meeting on October 6th, I am SLA NY’s President-Elect for 2015.  Which of course means that I shall be SLA NY President in 2016, providence permitting. I am still at the stage of thinking that if I say it enough I will finally start to believe it, although it has been on the cards since at least mid-summer so I ought to have got used to it by now.
